Hanging Baskets & Accessories FAQs

Take a look at some of the frequently asked questions we receive from those looking to buy Hanging Baskets & Accessories in the UK. You can contact our Customer Service Team or browse our general FAQs for further advice.

What are Hanging Baskets & Accessories?

Hanging baskets and accessories are products designed to create attractive elevated displays of flowers, foliage and trailing plants. The range may include baskets, liners, brackets, chains, watering systems and other accessories to help you create and maintain beautiful basket displays.

What can I grow in Hanging Baskets?

Hanging baskets are ideal for a wide variety of plants, including petunias, fuchsias, begonias, lobelia, calibrachoa, trailing geraniums and foliage plants. They can also be used to grow herbs, strawberries and some compact vegetables.

Why use Hanging Baskets?

Hanging baskets are an excellent way to add colour and interest to patios, balconies, doorways, courtyards and garden walls. They make the most of vertical space and are particularly useful for smaller gardens where ground space is limited.

What accessories do I need for Hanging Baskets?

Common hanging basket accessories include liners, brackets, chains, hooks, reservoirs and watering aids. These accessories can help support healthy plant growth, improve water retention and make baskets easier to display and maintain.

How often should I water Hanging Baskets?

Hanging baskets can dry out quickly, particularly during warm weather. Most baskets require regular watering throughout the growing season, with some needing watering daily during hot, sunny periods. Always check moisture levels and water when the compost begins to dry.

Can Hanging Baskets be reused?

Yes, many hanging baskets and accessories can be reused for multiple seasons. Clean baskets, liners and fittings after use and inspect them for wear before replanting.

How do I keep Hanging Baskets looking their best?

Regular watering, feeding and deadheading can help keep hanging baskets healthy and flowering for longer. Removing faded blooms and trimming back overgrown plants can encourage new growth and maintain an attractive display.

Are Hanging Baskets suitable for beginners?

Yes, hanging baskets are suitable for gardeners of all experience levels. With the right plants, compost and care, they can provide rewarding displays throughout the growing season.

Where should I position a Hanging Basket?

Position baskets according to the needs of the plants being grown. Many flowering basket plants prefer a sunny location, while others perform better in partial shade. Ensure baskets are securely fixed and easy to access for watering and maintenance.

Why choose Hanging Baskets & Accessories?

Hanging baskets are a simple and effective way to add height, colour and seasonal interest to outdoor spaces. Combined with the right accessories, they can help you create stunning displays of flowers and foliage that brighten patios, entrances, balconies and gardens throughout the year.
